BWX Improvements - June 2023

Somehow we always manage to better ourselves, and with so much at stake it's with great fortune and gratitude we're excited to bring to you some recent updates to our platform, updates with you in mind, updates that, by design, improve your quality of work and free up some of your valuable time.

AI Translation Smells in Editor‍

What it does

Alright, first things first, let me clarify this term "Smell" so you don't end up in the same boat as me (someone who's into translation but not too tech-savvy), nodding along without really understanding what "smells" are all about 😅. Simply put, the term originates from the programming world, where "smelling" refers to detecting problems in the code. In this update, for those fortunate users who have activated the AI feature, we've incorporated some nifty AI integrations that will alert you if we detect any issues with a translation that could potentially have some underlying problems. You know, we've got your back like that.

Why this is helpful

It’s great that AI helps us navigate translation but in each of our work units and accounts there are more subtle nuances in translation and this feature analyzes those deeper undertones and shines light on inconsistencies.

AI Part of speech classification

‍What it does

For users with the AI functionality activated, this feature will automate a suggestion on which speech classification would be most suitable to use when adding a new term to the Glossary in Editor.

Why this is helpful

With the advancement of AI, this classification can help optimize and bring speed to this process within the Editor.

WU export in bilingual XLSX

‍What it does

Creates a new method for exporting a WU (Work Unit) to a bilingual XLSX file.

Why this is helpful

In this way, we are prompting the development of the user's ability to work offline. The export XLSX will include information, such as the TM match percentage, locked segments and segment key.

The Import functionality will be available pretty soon too.

Switch option for MT Suggestions in the Editor

‍What it does

Creates a new option within the Translation Settings tab of a Project to enable or disable MT suggestions in the Editor.

Why this is helpful

Allows for more flexibility with the projects allowing the MT suggestions to be activated without activating the Pre-translation with MT, if desired, or vice-versa.

Trial Reminder

What it does

Create a new reminder informing users during the platform's trial period.

Why this is helpful

Assist these specific users in managing their time effectively and making the most out of their testing period on BWX.

New disclaimer when enabling AI Translation/Review on Account

What it does

Implements a confirmation when enabling AI Translation/Review with a disclaimer.

Why this is helpful

The goal here is to ensure that the activation process for AI features have maximum transparency, security, and information regarding the terms of use of this feature in general.
